the enchantment of summer: sky, shed & trees
There is simply nothing like summer! The sun so deliciously intense, the flowers blooming, birds chirping; there is fun in the air when you walk down the street. When painting this triptych, there were times my movements were analogous to a dancer -- arms swinging, body full of unbridled energy. Of course, when I was smashing old bottles, china, stone, my carefree nature took a turn -- painstaking care and intensity had to be given to the process. It was quite important to me to make this a triptych where the sky and tree from one piece carried over and onto the mosaic. I am quite pleased with the results. Although each of these pieces can stand alone, it is my desire that the threesome be sold as one. mixed media: paint, mosaic including glass bottles, discarded china, ceramic, etc.
